Cap sealer earns repeat business
Mar 13th, 2009 | By Mark Plantier | Category: Field Applications, Start-up businessIf you’ve ever considered starting your own business you know that packaging is a critical element. Making smart choices when it comes to packaging equipment is critical. For a start-up operation a low price captures your attention.
JoAnne Klauber, founder of Makes Scents has an interesting story to tell regarding her experience with two different cap sealers.
“Since almost all of our sales are through the Internet, our packaging, and in particular the induction seal, are critical for earning repeat business. One of my first purchases was a cap sealer from Enercon to prevent leaks and provide tamper evidence.
With orders flying in as fast as we could fulfill them, we recognized we should have a back-up induction sealer. Instead of going with what I knew in the quality and consistency of the Enercon, I found a price I couldn’t resist.
The cap sealing machine was a piece of junk. It was actually horrifying; as in addition to poor performance: there was no support available for the product either. Cutting corners on an induction cap sealer just didn’t make smart business sense.
“We quickly disposed of the imported induction sealer, and contacted Enercon for a new system. At the time, Enercon was introducing the new Super Seal™ Jr. The Super Seal™ Jr. has been a smashing success for Makes Scents. It seals in half the time of the older model and it takes up less space. We just set it up and it does what it’s supposed to.
